Rouse Energy is a clean-tech company with a proprietary, "green", patented, fuel additive we call "CMS" (for comprehensive mineral supplement) that improves combustion of a variety of fuels (higher heat, even heat, lower emissions, cleaner ash).The feedstock for production is waste material, some of it toxic, otherwise destined for landfills. We are seeking a strategic and entrepreneurial VP of Business Development to spearhead our growth initiatives across utilities, industrial partners, and waste stream suppliers. This role requires deep energy sector knowledge, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to forge technical and strategic relationships in a fast-moving, mission-driven environment.

- Lead all commercial growth initiatives, including strategic partnerships, pilot programs, and utility onboarding.
- Identify, negotiate, and close CMS deployment deals with power plants, cement producers, and heavy industrials.
- Develop and manage relationships with waste generators and feedstock suppliers for CMS production.
- Collaborate with internal teams (technical, regulatory, ESG) to align customer needs with R&D priorities.
- Drive market entry strategy into new geographies (starting with U.S., Canada, and EMEA).
- Represent Rouse Energy at energy, cleantech, and utility industry events.
- Prepare business cases, ROI models, and partnership structures for executive review.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in energy, cleantech, or industrial innovation, with a track record of commercial deal execution.
- Strong network across utilities, IPPs, EPCs, and/or sustainability-focused industrials.
- Experience negotiating MOUs, pilot agreements, offtakes, or strategic supply contracts.
- Bonus: background in coal-fired power, WTE, cement, or industrial additive markets.
- Entrepreneurial mindset — excited by early-stage risk, complexity, and hands-on building.
- Strong understanding of ESG frameworks and how sustainability drives value.
- Multiple pilot deployments of CMS with power plants or industrial partners within 12–18 months.
- Secured commercial contracts for CMS supply and feedstock acquisition.
- Supported early revenue generation and paved the path for Series A discussions.
